The society has been consulting with our members over the last few years on proposed reforms that broadly fall into two categories:
- Changes to our membership grades. These have been designed in partnership with a member reference group and refined through a number of member consultations during this year.
- Changes to our governance. These were approved by our Board of Trustees in 2018/9, but in some cases require constitutional amendments.
This work is now approaching its final stages, which will involve sharing our proposals with the Privy Council, which must agree them before they come into effect.
Before we do this, we want to offer all of our members the opportunity to comment on any aspect of the proposals. You can do this by emailing us.
The final stage would then come early in 2022, following Privy Council agreement, which would see us asking members to formally agree to the changes so that they can come into effect and our rules can be changed.
We’ve launched a new webpage (you will need to be logged in to access) that outlines in detail the changes we’re proposing to both our membership grades and our governance processes.
The email address will remain open for your feedback until 9am on Monday 9 August.
